Audio channel errors

For additional information you may wish to read more about our acceptable audio layouts.

Examples and Possible Solutions

Audio on channel 7/8

Audio may be present in these channels to include SAP, DVS, or duplicates of channel 1 and 2 in order to extend the audio field for surround sound setups.

Example:

Found audio on channel 7. This channel should not contain any audio. Selected audio type: ‘Stereo’.
Found audio on channel 8. This channel should not contain any audio. Selected audio type: ‘Stereo’.
Perhaps the correct option for this file would be ‘Stereo + 7/8’.

Possible Solution

This file has audio in channel 7 and channel 8 but Fig was only expecting audio in channel 1 and channel 2. This needs to be noted during the upload process by selecting the appropriate audio type in the upload form.

Solution: Select ‘Stereo + 7/8’ in the upload form during the upload process.

Audio on channel 3/4/5/6

Audio on these channels typically indicates that the file has surround sound.

Example:

Found audio on channel 3. This channel should not contain any audio. Selected audio type: ‘Stereo’.
Found audio on channel 5. This channel should not contain any audio. Selected audio type: ‘Stereo’.
Found audio on channel 6. This channel should not contain any audio. Selected audio type: ‘Stereo’.

Possible Solution

This file has audio in channel 3, 5, and 6 but Fig was only expecting audio in channel 1 and channel 2. This needs to be noted during the upload process by selecting the appropriate audio type in the upload form.

Solution: Select ‘Surround Sound (5.1)’ in the upload form during the upload process.

No audio found

In some instances spots with no audio may need to be uploaded to Fig. This is possible as long as No Audio is selected in the upload form.

Example:

Audio level too low on channel 1. Selected audio type: ‘Stereo’.
Audio level too low on channel 2. Selected audio type: ‘Stereo’.
In order to submit files that intentionally do not contain any audio at all, please select the option ‘No Audio’. Selected audio type: ‘Stereo’.

Possible Solution

If this spot intentionally has no audio the appropriate option must be selected in the upload form.

Solution: Select ‘No Audio’ in the upload form during the upload process.
