Variable frame rates allow a video file to play back at different fps speeds throughout the video depending on the source clips it contains. Variable frame rate files are great for the web but less than ideal for broadcast. NTSC Broadcast systems require a specific set frame rate of 29.97 and many may fail to play your spot if the frame rate is greater or lower than required.
Possible Solutions and Examples
Variable frame rate files can not be uploaded to Fig. Files will need to be re-encoded to a constant frame rate of 29.97 to be uploaded successfully. We have tutorials that can help you do this in a variety of editing & transcoding software. Please be aware that files that have been re-encoded to change the frame rate may appear jittery when played.
